The year is almost over so it’s time for the best of the year lists. Caped Crusades isn't exempt from that. This article will highlight the biggest moments from Batman. Not just the ones from the comics. Things happened outside of the pages of DC Comics too big to be left out. So let’s get right to things with the tenth of ten of Batman’s best moments of 2024.
10. Protecting his identity
At the end of Batman/Catwoman: Gotham War, a goon named Teddy learns that Bruce Wayne is the Dark Knight. When he finally decides to sell the information, he's met with adversity from goons ready to kill him for the secret. Thankfully, Batman protects Teddy and, as Bruce Wayne, he gets a new life in Metropolis. Not just because he was worried about the guy’s safety, Bruce wanted to give Teddy a second chance to be better.

9. Dressing up as Nightwing
When Dick Grayson had to leave Bludhaven to get over his fear, the city still needed protection. Bruce decided it was time to repay a debt he’s owed Dick for years for being Batman time and again. Bruce steps outside of his comfort zone by putting on the Nightwing costume and being Bludhaven’s guardian. Bruce said he even quipped. That must have been harder than squeezing into the costume.

8. Defeating Zur-En-Arrh
Imagine all of Batman’s knowledge and skills and none of his morals inside the indestructible Failsafe shell with the ability to access machinery. That’s Zur-En-Arrh. A personality that Bruce created and didn't realize was already planning to take over. It took Jason Todd dying for a little while and the help of the Bat Family to beat it. What makes this more impressive is Bruce did this without most of his futuristic technology and with Amanda Waller and Vandal Savage hunting him.

7. Batman: Caped Crusader
There’s no way HBO isn’t kicking themselves for dropping Batman: Caped Crusader. This show was more than a one-season accomplishment. The project has proven that it could go on for multiple seasons with its amazing writing and cool new takes on villains like Harley Quinn and The Penguin. If the finale is any indication, we should see a different and more serious Joker in season 2 too. Hopefully, Bruce Timm remains on throughout.
6. Getting his money back
Seeing Bruce Wayne make do with whatever was at hand was fun. It proved that The Dark Knight is more than his money. Nevertheless, that couldn’t last forever and thankfully, Chip Zdarsky didn’t wait too long to give Bruce his wealth back.
The funny part is it was all thanks to Zur-En-Arrh. The world has no clue how close it came to being completely taken over by the personality Bruce Wayne created.

5. Walking on the beach with Catwoman
After almost being killed by Darkseid, Batman's Mother Box transports him and Catwoman to a beach. When Selina asks where they are, Bruce says it’s the last place he was happy. It’s the island where they spent time before fighting Bane (Batman: City of Bane). As Bruce is ready to get back to fight Amanda Waller (Absolute Power), Selina grabs his hand and tells him to take a moment. Bruce listens.
If you need any more proof of their love, I don’t know what to tell you. This moment is a reminder that Selina understands who she’s in love with and that she’s one of the few people he lets in.

4. The Bat Signal
People hadn’t seen anything from Robert Pattinson’s Batman in two years. And, out of nowhere, fans were given a literal signal in the sky. The Bat Signal was lit for the first time in years. It was the perfect way to end The Penguin and remind people that Batman is still around. Soon after that, it was announced that The Batman: Part 2 would be released in 2026.
3. Absolute Batman begins
- Comic book: Absolute Batman
- Writer: Scott Snyder
- Artist: Nick Dragotta
Elseworld titles can be good, but Absolute Batman is great. The ongoing series takes a new look at Bruce Wayne’s origin by keeping Martha Wayne alive and raising Bruce without their riches. What fans learn is that Bruce will find a way to protect Gotham City even in a universe created by Darkseid.
Writer Scott Snyder said that he’s staying on this title for at least two years and if the series does well, possibly longer. This is a good thing. Comic book fans enjoy stories that show a different version of their favorite heroes. If this series goes as well as I think, maybe we’ll get an animated feature. James Gunn said he wants to tell Elseworld tales. This would be a good story to show on the screen or on TV.
2. Help from the Bat Family
There may not be a more stubborn character than Bruce Wayne. He would rather do everything on his own and possibly die than have to rely on others. So his accepting help from Tim Drake and later asking Jason Todd, Dick Grayson, and Barbara Gordon for assistance is a big deal. It showed much-needed growth from the Dark Knight. That being said, let’s see how long it lasts.

1. Walk of fame
Batman becoming the first comic book character to have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is a moment bigger than The Dark Knight. This is something that all comic book fans and companies should be proud of. Everyone who watched a movie or show, bought a comic book, Funko Pop, or shirt helped contribute to this. Every tweet and positive comment told the world that he is a beloved character.
From now on, if anyone says that comic books aren’t a big deal, here’s what you can tell them. “Take a trip down Hollywood Blvd. and Vine Street and stop when you get to the one that says ‘Batman'.”
