It’s been a long time since we’ve seen Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, and the rest of their gang, but they’re back! The last time we saw them, things were going bad for people in Gotham. The preview for season 5 shows that things have gotten worse since the season 4 finale. They were always bad, but now giant rats are eating people and climbing buildings.
Because the U.S. Government has declared that Gotham isn’t part of the United States, they won't be getting aid from the military or a charitable organization funded by America. How things end for one of the worst cities in comics remains to be seen.
Everything happening in Gotham City won't affect Harley and Ivy for long. They're leaving Gotham for a shiny and clean Metropolis. However, things won’t be the walk in the park that is shown in the link image. Brainiac is on his way to Earth and it looks like Harley will be responsible for stopping the world destroying being. As crazy as that sounds (and it is), Harley will likely save the day.
Fans should also look for the wielder of the Anti-Life Equation (Rebecca Chen) to cause problems as well (she gained those powers during the season finale of Kite Man: Hell Yeah). Even if Rebecca Chen isn’t one of the main threats, we should see her somewhere towards the end of the season.
As dangerous as Brainiac is, the Anti-Life Equation may be worse. A quick look at what it did during DCeased will show you can it can destroy life throughout the galaxy. Not even Brainiac can cause damage on that scale or protect himself from an undead horde. If Rebecca Chen isn't shown, look for her to appear in the mid/post-credit scene to set up season 2 of Kite Man: Hell Yeah (if it happens) or season 6 of Harley Quinn.
