Kite Man: Hell Yeah! was more entertaining than you’d think it would be. The HBO Max show had a lot of deep moments mixed in with the shenanigans you'd expect. They also stayed true to the characters, told a fantastic story, and ended without destroying the universe with the Anti-Life Equation.
The last part sounds like a stretch considering Kite Man is the star of the show. There's no way he's good enough to stop Darkseid from getting the Anti-Life Equation. Even Superman has problems beating the Lord of Apokolips. Thankfully, the creative team made it work without suspending the disbelief too much. Well, as much as you can in a comic book show.
You wouldn’t think Kite Man: Hell Yeah! would end with something world-shattering on one end and possibly the universe ending on another. But, considering how much Harley Quinn has done on her show, it isn’t shocking that Brainiac is coming and that the Anit-Life Equation is still in play.
The Anti-Life Equation couldn’t be destroyed so Golden Glider’s mother, Rebecca Chen, took it into the Queen of Fables storybook for safekeeping. You knew this wasn’t a selfless act if you watched the show.
As Martian Manhunter flies the book through space, we see Rebecca Chen inside the book. She's taken on the power of the Anti-Life Equation to use for herself inside the storybook. The fairy tale characters have transformed from bright-colored and friendly to undead demons ready to obey her every order.
Meanwhile, as if things weren’t bad enough, there’s a metal skull with tentacles on its way to Earth. DC Comics fans know this is the first sign of Brainiac—a being who wants to destroy worlds and keep their knowledge for himself. Normally, you could have faith that Superman and the Justice League would take care of Brainiac. Unfortunately, the heroes of this universe are incompetent. That means Harley Quinn will have to deal with them. However, Harley doesn’t know that thanks to the Lazereth Pit, Nightwing is alive and looking for revenge.
Rebecca Chen has wanted power for a while. Now that she has it, she says she and her army of undead fairy tale characters have worlds to destroy. Too bad Rebecca doesn't know that Brainiac is in her way. Will she be powerful enough to stop him or does the Anti-Life Equation become another artifact in Brainiac's evergrowing library? Stay tuned to Caped Crusades to find out.
