The Penguin: Who's going to survive the season finale

Bad news. Some or all of your favorite characters from The Penguin aren't going to survive the season finale. Here are the most important people in the show and why they will or won't make it to The Batman 2.

The one thing you can guarantee is that someone important from The Penguin will die in the season finale. With everything going on with Oz Cobb and Sofia Gigante (formerly Sofia Falcone), we can guess someone close to them will be caught in the crossfire. Who knows, they may not survive the finale either.

This article will break down the six major characters in The Penguin, guess if they’ll die, and why. Unfortunately, some of them won't make it, but no one expected them to last the entire season.

Victor Aguilar

Victor Aguilar is the only person in The Penguin viewers can be sympathetic to. Even before the show started, his life was destroyed by the bomb Riddler set off during The Batman. Then, in episode 1 of The Penguin, he meets Oz Cobb, and his life is changed again. He's done things far outside of his character like robbing and killing people. Now he’s due for one more change. He’s going to leave Gotham City.

I’m not sure if this is hopeful thinking or not. On one hand, nothing has gone right for Victor throughout the season. On the other hand, something good must happen to him. Maybe leaving Gotham to be with his girlfriend is his way out. It wouldn’t be shocking if Oz paid his way to California. If anyone deserves a happy ending, it's Victor.

Eve Karlo and Francis Cobb

This writer will skip the formalities. Eve Karlo and Francis Cobb won’t survive the season finale. The only people Oz cares about are his mother, his girlfriend, and Vic. Vic will survive because Oz wants to make up for killing his brothers. Eve will die because she sold him out (episode 6). As for his mother? Oz will see her as a liability. The only way he can be untouchable is if he’s uncaring. Once she’s gone, Oz won’t have anything or anyone that can be used against him. When that happens, we'll see a scarier Oz Cobb.

Dr. Julian Rush

Batman fans have been saying that Julian Rush will eventually become Victor Zsasz for weeks. It seemed to be all but confirmed after he started to enjoy the violence Sofia was inflicting (episode 5). Since this isn't the comic book universe, his name doesn't matter. Julian can become a serial killer after the chaos ends and, to avoid the police, he can change his name to Victor Zsasz.

Sofia Gigante

Every fan of The Penguin would love to see Sofia Gigante in a future HBO show. However, she won’t survive. From what we know about the creative team, they knew Cristin Milioti would be amazing in The Penguin. Because of that, her death means more to The Batman franchise than a potential Sofia Gigante spin-off. It'll become a part of a long list of characters killed during an HBO show. Depending on the scene, it could be the most memorable.

Oz Cobb

And now we come to the man of the hour, the Penguin himself, Oz Cobb. There’s no way he’s killed in this series. First, this was called a limited series, but the show is too popular to be a one-off. Second, Oz is a big part of Batman’s lore. Even if he isn’t a major character in the movies, he should be seen as an important figure in Gotham City. Lastly, Oz has to be the one to kill Sofia. It’s the only way to make her death unforgettable.

Stay tuned to Caped Crusades to see if the predictions come true.
