The main story involving Sofia Gigante and Oz Cobb is the main event of The Penguin season finale. It’s the most important part of the show and will decide whether or not this series was a success or failure. Considering each episode has been fantastic, there’s no reason to think the finale will be disappointing. As important as that is, other things are happening in Gotham City.

We all want to know what’ll happen between Oz and Sofia since the series has revolved around them. However, there’s more to The Penguin than just them. This article will break down the other crucial characters and stories you must watch. Let’s start with what writer Lauren LeFranc called Oz’s Robin.

Victor Aguilar

The relationship between Oz and Victor has been special. Oz has done everything he can to turn his protege into something bigger than he was. In some ways, it's worked. Some of you may have noticed that Vic’s stutter isn’t as bad as it used to be and he’s not as afraid as he was. With Oz’s empire destroyed, Vic is the only person left to help him. The problem is Aguliar has troubles of his own.

During episode 6, Vic shoots a big-time Gotham City drug dealer named Squid. It was the first person he killed and it’s doubtful that he’s over it. Getting past that will be the least of his troubles. Squid’s crew likely knew that their boss was going to see Vicand and that he killed their boss. This will interfere with whatever Oz needs Vic to do.

How will Victor help Oz? The easy guess is he got Oz away from the cop who beat him over the head at the end of episode 7. Their next move should be getting the crime families together to take down Sofia Gigante. While Oz is on the run, Vic could be working on getting soldiers for the final fight.

Once everything is over, what’s next for Vic? Does he stay in Gotham City? If so, will he remain with Oz or do his own thing? If Victor leaves, is California his destination? He may try to get back with his girlfriend and restart his life.  However, there's no guarantee she will take him back after standing her up at the bus station.

Eve Karlo

Eve was supposed to be the one person that Oz could trust. He had faith that his mother wouldn’t expose anything he did, but she wasn’t in the thick of things. Eve was. She held him down when things got bad and she legitimately loved him. That changed once she learned how Oz assisted in sending Sofia to Arkham. That forced Eve to tell Sofia where Oz may be hiding.

When Oz learns that Eve betrayed him, he’ll have a decision to make. Does he kill her, let her go, or do something else? There’s no doubt that Oz still has love for her, but Eve contributed to the downfall of his empire, Francis being kidnapped, and almost being killed by Sofia's bomb.

Julian Rush

Lastly, will we learn what’s going on with Julian Rush? His behavior changed after Sofia killed her family. He said that he wanted to feel the rush Sofia felt after the murders of the Viti and Falcone Families. He’s become almost obsessed with it. In episode 7, Sofia said she wanted to know how to torture someone and went to Julian. No way doesn’t come into play in the finale episode.

Is this where we finally learn if Julian is destined to become Victor Zsasz? If he is, does that mean the darkness has always been inside him? Was he doing violent things to people before he became a psychiatrist? Did he kill the real Julian Rush' and steal his life? Hopefully, all of these questions will be answered in the season finale of The Penguin. Stay tuned to Caped Crusades to see if they are.
