Joker 2 will be available digitally sooner than you think

Joker: Folie a Deux bombed. There’s no other way to say it. You can debate that by saying it made its money back thanks to international ticket sales ($200 million budget and made just over that internationally), but few people cared about this project.

Normally, if a movie is worth seeing, people online will champion it and give reasons why it should be seen in theaters. Unfortunately for the cast and crew, that wasn’t the case. However, there’s still hope. Joker 2 will be available to rent and buy digitally on October 29th, 2024.

According to the Comic book, Joker: Folie a Deux will be available to rent and own on digital streaming services like Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, and Vudu. Why is this a good thing? People who didn’t make it to theaters will have the opportunity to watch it from their homes, phones, and more. Being away from the public or around loved ones could give people a different perspective.

Whether you buy the digital version or the physical copy (the latter will be available on December 17, 2024) there will be bonus footage. Again, going back to the Comic Book article, the copy will have a “documentary going behind the scenes of the musical”. Whether or not that’s enough to get people to buy the movie remains to be seen, but I doubt it. This writer tries his best to be as positive as possible when it comes to someone’s art. It’s difficult to do it with Joker 2 because so many bad reports have come out. 

Whether it’s the rumors from lip-reading on the red carpet or the justification of the movie being a musical (and then being reported that it’s not really a musical), things haven’t looked good. It’s reports like these that turn people off. That being said, This writer believes that people will rent this movie and make it number one. At least for the first week.

Who knows. Maybe that will be enough to give it another run in theaters. If can happen to Morbius why not Joker: Folie a Deux? All it needs is someone to make the right meme and quote to get the momentum going.
