One of the first things Scott Snyder established in Absolute Batman was Bruce Wayne's figure wasn't the only thing that separated him from his counterpart. He had friends. The Bruce we know does too, but not like this. These are the people he met as a kid, kept in contact with, and made efforts to see. Among them are Harvey Dent, Oswald, Eddie, and Waylon Jones. You may recognize them by their Prime Earth villain names Two-Face, Penguin, Riddler, and Killer Croc. One more person is missing from their group and it’s Selina or, Prime Earth’s Catwoman.
Selina has been mentioned a couple of times in this series. However, each time it’s been about her being out of the country. That changed at the end of issue No. 2 when Selina visited a sulking Bruce in his room. She knew Bruce needed a friend after his father died, but was also aware that he wouldn't ask for help. So, instead of waiting, she took it upon herself to cheer her friend up. That's where the issue ends, but thanks to a post on Bluesky from Scott Snyder, we know their story continues from there.

Snyder’s post showed a young Bruce and Selina jumping from one rooftop to the next. There’s not much to go on in the image. It’s just a view from the ground looking up at them. However, if this writer has to guess, this adventure will be where Bruce decides to become a vigilante. He already received an idea for his symbol when he was at the zoo being swarmed by bats. All that was left was the push to do more. Selina getting him out of the room is likely the one that gets the ball rolling.
Scott Snyder will always give readers good character development. He knows that Bruce and Selina meeting at a young age will heavily influence each other. In this case, it’ll be more than just becoming the Dark Knight. Their escapade will have a major impact on who Bruce is going forward. We could see the beginning of a romance, someone’s love being rejected, or maybe this is how they become best friends. After all, this isn’t Earth Prime. The options are endless. When it’s revealed, Caped Crusades will report it.
