The first actual gameplay of Injustice 2 was shown off today

E3 doesn’t officially start until well, Monday but that doesn’t mean companies aren’t taking advantage of the hype of the year’s biggest gaming event to show off their latest games before the show even starts. Case in point, the recently announced Injustice 2, the DC superhero brawler follow-up to Injustice: Gods Among Us. Injustice 2 was leaked via a poster mere days ago, then followed up with an announcement trailer a day or so later. But that trailer didn’t show any gameplay.

However if you were worried we wouldn’t see any actual gameplay of Injustice 2 anytime soon, not to worry, the game was actually shown off today on Twitch during the Mortal Kombat X Esport Finals.

The video sees newcomers Supergirl, Atrocitus and Gorilla Grodd in action, along with old favorites like Superman, and Aquaman. Newly revealed in the trailer was Aquaman villain Ocean Master. Ed Boon of NetherRealm Studious, promised for Injustice 2 a bigger roster with a lot of new faces. Check out the new trailer with actual gameplay for Injustice 2 below:

Next: Batman At E3

Injustice 2 will also be making an appearance during the actual event of E3, this Monday around 12:30 pm Eastern Time on the Youtube Live gaming channel, where presumably we will see even more footage and possibly a new character or two revealed as well. Injustice 2 doesn’t look drastically different than the first game, but the first game looked pretty fantastic so that’s hardly a complaint, and man does Aquaman’s fatality look amazing, I hope the others are all equally impressive if not more so. The first game was a lot of fun so if you’ve never played it or haven’t played it in awhile I suggest giving it a try before the sequel comes out. Injustice 2 is due out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One sometime in 2017.
