Take a look at the cast of Justice League vs. Teen Titans, along with a synopsis and a new promotional image!

TV Insider’s Rich Sands published an article this morning revealing the voice cast for the upcoming Justice League vs. Teen Titans film.  Out of the three DC Universe Animated Original Movies being released this year, this is the one that we have gotten the least information about to this point.  Until today, all we had was one promotional image.  In addition to the cast reveal, Sands also published a second promotional image (see the featured image of my article above) and a short synopsis, and he wrote that the movie will be released this spring.

The voice actors that have been portraying the Justice Leaguers since the DCUAOM line began sharing a universe in Justice League: War will be reprising their roles in Justice League vs. Teen Titans: Jason O’Mara as Batman, Jerry O’Connell as Superman, Rosario Dawson as Wonder Woman, Christopher Gorham as Flash, and Shemar Moore as Cyborg.  That announcement actually tells us something very important about the film, which is that we’re only getting half of the Justice League in it.  This is the certainly the correct route to go, because it wouldn’t seem right if the Teen Titans were evenly matched against the entire Justice League.

As for the Teen Titans, Sean Maher, Stuart Allan, and Kari Wahlgren will be reprising their roles as Nightwing, Robin, and Starfire, respectively, while being joined by Jake T. Austin as Blue Beetle, Brandon Soo Hoo as Beast Boy, and Taissa Farmiga as Raven.  I would’ve preferred having Greg Cipes and Tara Strong, the quintessential Beast Boy and Raven, in the film, but I’m eager to hear what these new actors have up their sleeves.  The main antagonist will be Raven’s father Trigon (played by Jon Bernthal), who’s involvement is laid out in Sands’ synopsis:

"The film sends Robin to work with the Titans after his volatile behavior botches a Justice League mission. The young team then must really step up to face Trigon after he possesses the League and threatens to conquer the world."

After already seeing two movies (Son of Batman and Batman vs. Robin) where one of the biggest themes was Robin’s volatile behavior, I’m not super thrilled about it being prevalent in this one, but the rest of the story sounds really interesting.  As for the promotional image, it’s the first time we’ve seen character designs for Starfire, Beast Boy, Raven, and Blue Beetle in this universe.  I’m pleased with the way all of them look, but I especially think they hit the nail on the head with Raven’s costume.  Let me know your thoughts on the cast, synopsis, and promotional image in the comments, and be sure to keep it locked to Caped Crusades for continuing coverage of this film and for all your Batman news!
