Scott Snyder Confirms ‘Batman Eternal: Year 2’

Batman scribe Scott Snyder recently did a Reddit AMA in which he confirmed return of Batman Eternal for a second year. As you may know, all big DC story arcs are rumored to wrap up by next April, paving way to a ‘hiatus’ of some sort. This points the signs that direction once again.

"The story ends in March and then we’ll do a year 2 after a break (we have to get WAY ahead on a weekly series before it starts coming out)."

DC Co-publisher Dan Didio talked about this earlier in the year:

"Batman Eternal started this April and runs to next March after which it takes a brief hiatus, Futures End starts this May and ends the last week of March 2015, and Worlds End starts in October and ends the same week as the others next March, hope that clears things up."

The fact that there has been no confirmation the other titles mentioned, Futures End or Worlds End, are going to come back after the hiatus means that Batman Eternal will likely be the big ongoing that survives the break. That fact does lead one to believe that DC won’t officially reboot in April as was rumored.
