Will DC Reboot Next Year??

The current buzz around DC Comics is that all current story arcs are to be finished by April of 2015. Does this have to do with the comic publisher’s move from its traditional home in New York to L.A.? Are they going to try and straighten out the continuity errors and sloppy narratives of the New 52?

This is from DC Entertainment President Diane Nelson on the move  last year:

"I can confirm that plans are in the works to centralize DCE’s operations in 2015. Next week, the Exec Team will be in New York for a series of meetings to walk everyone through the plans to relocate the New York operations to Burbank. The move is not imminent and we will have more than a year to work with the entire company on a smooth transition for all of us, personally and professionally.Everyone on the New York staff will be offered an opportunity to join their Burbank colleagues and those details will be shared with you individually, comprehensively and thoughtfully next week. Meeting notifications will be sent tomorrow to ensure the roll out of this information and how it affects the company and you personally. We know this will be a big change for people and we will work diligently to make this as smooth and seamless a transition as possible."

The last time DC Creators were asked to tie up all current arcs was right before the decision to ‘soft reboot’ into the New 52. Considering the effort it will require to move and reopen operations in California, one would imagine that it would be an odd time to launch an editor-driven crossover event. However, DC is going to publish SOMETHING, so what could it be?

There’s a distinct possibility that readers will see some massive event that will encompass all books with one narrative so as to fall under the purview of a small number of editors. I would normally say to get ready for a Secret Wars/Crisis on Infinite Earths type event, but DC JUST rebooted. I don’t know if another reinvention four years later would be wise on multiple levels.

Fact is, SOMETHING’s coming, but we’re still in the dark as to what, exactly.
