Stamp Collectors Upset By New Batman Stamps?
Probably the last thing you’d expect to cause controversy is Batman stamps to help commemorate the Dark Knight’s 75th anniversary. But apparently, some stamp collectors feel the Batman stamps and stamps like them aimed at getting the young kids excited about stamp collecting are ruining the hobby (yes, seriously)

How are special edition stamps ruining the oh so important hobby of stamp collecting you ask? Well, according to people like former Postmaster General Benjamin Bailar “They have prostituted it in an effort to make money.” He even stepped down from the Citizens Stamp Advisory Committee in August because of stamps like the Batman ones. Yup can’t imagine why an cash-strapped outdated institution everyone sees as a massive annoyance these days would want to make money off something…
You know, I’m incredibly nerdy and willing to have heated arguments about some really trivial stuff, but this strikes me as beyond ridiculous. It’s an attempt to get some kids excited about collecting stamps. If you don’t get them interested while they are young, that’s how things like this die out.
