Mayan Inspired Batman Art in Mexico

Check out this amazing sculpture project. It’s Batman through the lens of Mayan theology, and it’s pretty rad.

"To commemorate the 75th anniversary of “Batman”, Warner Home Entertainment Mexico in conjunction with the Mexican Museum of Design MUMEDI , organized an exhibition inviting 30 artists to modify a EFIGE of this iconic character. The Mayan god Camazotz was the focus of my proposal, this deity of Mesoamerican mythology was regarded teacher of the mysteries of life and death, his cult began about 100 a. C. between the Zapotec Indians of Oaxaca; who worshiped an anthropomorphic monster with the body of man and head bat was associated with night, darkness and the underworld."
