Athena Finger – granddaughter of Batman co-creator Bill Finger -received a posthumous honor for her late grandfather at Comic-Con on Thursday. At the Spotlight on Bill Finger, Co-Cceator of Batman panel Comic-Con International’s organizers gave Finger the Inkpot Award for the late writer’s formative work on Batman’s creation.

The honor was a long time coming, since Finger was creator of much of the Batman mythos without receiving the credit of his co-creator Bob Kane.

The panel also included Michael Ulsan, the producer of Tim Burton’s Batman and Tom Andrae, who co-authored Bob Kane’s autobiography. They each had high praise of Finger and his work in the creation of a legend.
