Doomsday in ‘Batman v Superman’?

facebooktwitterreddit

Bleedingcool.com, a geek news website for whom I used to write, is reporting that ’90’s extreme’ Superman foil Doomsday will be the villain in Batman v Superman. They claim the source has actually seen designs, instead of pulling them from the likely fake shooting script from which a lot of spoilers have been pouring out. I’m not sure if that means he will actually be the main baddie or even a tertiary one, but I personally can’t see this being a good thing.

In the comics, Doomsday kills Superman, who is dead for a full year. Introducing Supes in the last film and knowing he’s going to be in Justice League, where’s the drama? If they don’t use Doomsday to kill him, why have him in the film at all? He doesn’t really have any other function even in print. I just can’t see that being anything more than the crappy appearance of Bane in Batman and Robin.
