Know Your Convention: a Batman Fan’s Guide Con Season: C2E2

Moving outside of my home state of Missouri, I thought I’d tackle a neighboring state to the east: Illinois!

C2E2, or the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo, one of two major Chi-Town conventions on the circuit this year. Its a relatively new con, starting in 2010, but it’s begun to build a reputation as a large-without-losing-its-focus type convention (like some we will detail later).

One good example: they have a good chunk of info on their FAQ page. Ha! From the website:

"The Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo – also known as C2E2 – is a convention spanning the latest and greatest from the worlds of comics, movies, television, toys, anime, manga and video games. Bringing the best of popular culture to Downtown Chicago, C2E2’s show floor is packed with hundreds of exhibitors, panels and autograph sessions giving fans a chance to interact with their favorite creators and screening rooms featuring sneak peeks at films and television shows months before they hit either the big or small screen!"

For Bat-fans, check out some of the awesome Batman related industry professionals in attendance.

Batgirl writer Gail Simone, Batman scribe Scott Snyder, Batman/Deathblow creator Lee Barmejo, Batman Incorporated’s Chris Burnham, Batman: L’il Gotham’s Dustin Nguyen, Batman’s James Tynion IV, Batman: Eternal’s Jason Fabok, Patrick Gleason and Peter J. Tomasi from Batman and Robin. Ryan Benjamin from Batman Beyond, and many more!

The Skinny:

The Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo 2014 is being held in the South Building at McCormick Place located at 2301 S. Lake Shore Drive in Chicago, Illinois.

If you get a chance, take a browse of their website. It’s actually pretty well done for a convention page and easy to navigate.
