Welcome to the first ever fan art of the week post on Caped Crusades! We here at Caped Crusades are Batman fans in our own right, and we feel that including content we want to see on a Batman site is important to ensuring that we include all the content our readers crave. I enjoy Batman fan art immensely and wanted to share some of my favorites with our readers here at Caped Crusades. I will post a new piece of Batman fan art each week, including a brief explanation of what makes each piece so great. Please feel free to leave comments about the piece and don’t forget to check out the rest of the artist’s work! So without further ado we bring to you today a portrait done by Aaron Wong. I wanted to start with Aaron’s piece because I think it is a remarkably good portrait of Christian Bale as The Dark Knight. I love the lighting in this piece, so much of the Batman fan art is dark, and rightfully so, Batman is after all the Dark Knight. But once in a while it is nice to see a portrait of Batman in full light. This portrait uses light instead of shadow to highlight the nuances of the cowl and suit. It is truly unique, and a great piece to start this weekly post with.
