Gotham: Erin Richards cast as Barbara Gordon

The cast of the upcoming Fox series Gotham is starting to fill out as some major roles have been filled by the studio. After casting Ben McKenzie as Jim Gordon over the weekend, Fox has gone on a casting spree and added four new names to the cast.
While The Penguin and Alfred are headline names to casual fans, comic book fans have been wondering how Barbara Gordon will be handled considering this is a prequel series focused heavily on Jim Gordon. Variety is reporting that Erin Richards has been cast as Barbara Kean, who is the fiancé of Jim Gordon and eventually becomes Barbara Gordon in the seres.
"Erin Richards will play Barbara Kean, the fiance of Detective Gordon (McKenzie). A sophisticated emergency doctor, Kean stands by her husband amid the corrupt world of Gotham"
Fans will be happy to hear that Barbara Gordon will be involved in the series and actively so, it appears. Richards is general unknown in Hollywood although she has some mainstream film roles to her name and will only explode in popularity with her role as one of Batman fans most beloved characters.
